For the final round of the 2013 series we headed up north to the newly refurbished Halifax track, that had recently hosted the Euro championships. We weren’t disappointed, wow, they have certainly done a good job. The pit area is now huge and fully covered, retarmaced surface to the pit as well. The circuit has always been one of the best, fast and flowing, lovely track for the bikes to run on. One of my favourites.
John had laid on the sunshine for us, so is was all set for the cliffhanger races to decide the champions of 2013.
The qualifying saw some fast times from all classes, it goes to show how the bikes are developing over the years from their early incarnations. There wasn’t much difference in the times between first and sixth in most of the classes, it was going to be close.
The superbike and stock classes were going to be decided at this meeting, with pressure on Neil and Scott in stock, and Steve and Peter in superbike. The winners would take the championship spoils – all to play for. Both those set of finals didn’t disappoint, with all those drivers doing their best to take the titles. But in the end it was Peter in Superbike and Neil in Stock. The nitro John had already taken, and I believe that Martin had got the sidecar.
All above to be fully confirmed, there may be stewards enquiries etc – we shall have to wait till Cotwold in two weeks time at the GP to hand out the tropies.

See you there, cheers Andy
