Text Box: KP Designs was the first manufacturer to introduce hydraulic brakes to the popular large scale market. Most other brands are near copies of our Mk1 brakes.

              

Text Box: Using new advanced manufacturing technique we can produce brakes with smoother action, less friction and load on the servos and guaranteed not to leak.
The new brakes are more universal, more powerful, more complete, give 100% brake pad contact, lighter in weight, and are more cost effective than any other hydraulic brakes. 
Out of the packet they will fit to any FG based car using plastic or aluminium uprights front and rear, circuit or off road. The brakes are supplied complete with large diameter steel disks and a special oil resistant grade of Ferodo friction pads.

In the pack are all the parts required to mount the brakes, connect the servos, and to plumb the hydraulics. We supply Dot5.0 silicon hydraulic oil, it’s not cheap, but it is the best.

A range of pre drilled and tapped alloy radio plates are available for most radio installations.
 
 
 
We also produce a range of anodised alloy radio plates, with the extra space and tapped holes, and raising posts for the master cylinders (2), for both circuit and off road cars.

KPD hydraulic brakes have proved to be the most economic, reliable and effective hydraulic brakes on the market.
Hydraulic brakes are rapidly becoming the standard fitment for the top racers in many countries.
Cars fitted with these brakes easily out perform cable brake cars, as they offer far greater stopping power, side to side balance and sensitivity, all for less servo effort.
Their smooth, easily controllable braking, coupled with very fast response, make for a winning combination that requires very little maintenance, as wear is easilly taken up. For the best results brake units should be fitted both to the front and to the rear wheels, so that balanced braking can be achieved.
KPD hydraulic brakes are specifically designed for large scale model cars and feature precision manual wear adjustment, easy in situ bleeding, long life racing car brake linings, easy installation, low cost and low maintenance.
Precision manual adjustment ensures that the brakes are working at their maximum efficiency at all times and maximises the cooling of the brake linings due to the superior contact area with the slave cylinder body.
KPD hydraulic brakes generate approximately double the braking effort of some of the other makes. There are several copies of KPD brakes on the market, but none perform like the originals.
Hydraulic Brakes In order to cater for many of the cars on the market there are two types of brake kit available. The original standard type mounts in front of the wheel centre as in the picture on the left. The second 'X' type, shown on the right, mounts behind the wheel centre. Hydraulic Brakes
Hydraulic Brakes Both types of brakes are supplied with the hydraulic units built and tested, and all the necessary connectors, brake fluid, and piping and instructions.
To mount the brakes to the car, an additional pack is required to suit the particular model.

Brake Pack The packs contain the correct mounting plates for the front and rear axle blocks, plus pre-formed linkage wires, overrides, springs collets and screws, a bleeding tube plus full instructions. Mounting packs are made to adapt the brake callipers to fit using the mounting holes in the axle blocks of the various makes of car, and are available for FG, Harm, Laro, Lauterbacher, Dynamic, PB and others as they become required. Master cylinder on HARM car The Master Cylinder should be mounted in a convenient location to obtain the thrust from the servo in as straight a line as possible , and not nearer than 50mm to the servo, to prevent angular movement from the rotation of the servo arm side loading the piston.
