Summary of the World Championships 2009 - Leipzig
Report by Keith Plested
The World Championships at Leipzig turned out to be a slight disappointment. Partly our own fault as we did not get there in time for sufficient practice and setting up. Result was our drivers were still experimenting with set ups all through the qualifying and the finals.
Also there was none or poor quality refereeing controlling the races, and most of our problems came from back markers blocking or taking out over taking bikes. Having said all that, our two top drivers both made the main final in Superbike but again suffered with bikes being put out by the marshals right in front of a fast moving bike. Finishing order was Roki 5th and Colin 6th. All of the rest of the team were well satisfied with their results.
In the Nitro class where Shaun Caulfield was running his KP09n he easily qualified through to the Main final but suffered a plug failure on one of his refuelling stops, which cost a number of laps, thus finishing 8th. It was also rather disappointing that we had a completely set up KP09n ready to run, and although we found several good drivers that wanted to run the bike the organisers would not let them change bikes despite it still being during practice.
Halifax Round 4 - KP09e takes top 3 slots in Superbike Class plus 1st and 2nd in Nitro with KP09n prototype

Darren Johnson keeps the results rolling in by winning the Superbike A final at the challenging Cotswold track. Roki Read finishes literally just ahead of Colin McCabe (left). A returning James Crunden takes the overall first position in the Superstock class with Steve Newey taking overall third.
Colin seen smiling in the extremely hot conditions we endured all weekend - a change from the usual rain.
Colins bike seen below left is pretty much a standard KP09e using the MTroniks Genride G2 speedo and small can motor. Hopefully at the next BRCA round at Mendip we will be taking some more detailed photos of the Team bikes as they are currently being raced.

Fred Lapeyre - takes the win at his first outing with the KP10n in Dijon
Fred took the new KP10n out for a first run at a meeting in Dijon and took first place. He commented on how the new bike changed direction and handled really well. His engine was brand new, having only done two tanks, so would run smoother as time went on. Congratulations to Fred, hope organising the Worlds in Grenoble is going well!

FINAL RESULTS OF THE 2009 BRCA SERIES

Colin McCabe 2009 Superbike Champ
Congratulations go to Colin McCabe winning the 2009 BRCA Superbike class, being chased very closely on many occasions by second place man Roki Read.
Colin ran a pretty much standard KP09e all season, being powered by his MTroniks Genride G2 speedo and small can motor.

Steve Newey finished second in the SuperStock championship, only a few points behind the leader. Excellent result when you consider Steve runs race control for the series, so has plenty to distract him during race weekends.
Well done Steve.
